So many wonderful reasons to attend this sold out event ~ For The Love Of The Brew ~ Big Lick’s Beer Fest on Sunday, March at the Berglund Special Events Center, Roanoke, Virginia:
Some of the proceeds from the Beer Fest benefit the Mountain View Humane Spay Neuter Clinics (Roanoke and Christiansburg,Virginia)
From their website: Mountain View Humane operates 2 spay/neuter clinics : the Waldron-Ricci Spay Neuter Clinic in Christiansburg and the Sabrina & Lucky Garvin Spay Neuter Clinic in Roanoke. The mission of Mountain View Humane is to end pet overpopulation in Southwest Virginia and Southern West Virginia by providing affordable, high-quality spay and neuter services to the general public, while providing education on the benefits of aggressive spay and neuter programs.
Deschutes Brewery was a very popular place to sample brews at the Fest!
My favorite hard cider offered at the beer fest was Bold Rock Vintage Dry Hard Cider. It was reminiscent of champagne…from their website: http://www.boldrock.com/
Complex and smooth with a dry finish, Vintage Dry is a well-balanced premium hard cider that is crafted to bring out the full-bodied taste of locally picked Blue Ridge apples.

A great bunch of people celebrated the “GrandER Opening” of Mr. Bill’s Wine Cellar in Roanoke, Virginia on March 31, 2016…celebrating the expansion of their store which includes a very nice selection of champagnes and sparkling wines (my personal favorite section of the store!). Bill Phillips, owner, Mr. Bill’s Wine Cellar is in the center of the photo above with the big scissors he used to cut the ribbon.
Mr. Bill’s Wine Cellar includes a new Growler Station!
