Makes 24 bread sticks
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
14 ounces Dufour Pastry Kitchens Classic Puff Pastry (available locally at Fresh Market), thawed
5.2 ounces Boursin Caramelized Onion and Herb Cheese
1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons butter, melted
Freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Lightly spray baking sheet with vegetable spray and lightly rub with a paper towel to coat the baking sheet.
Place puff pastry on a lightly floured board. Spread Boursin cheese over puff pastry being careful not to tear the pastry. Sprinkle pastry with Gruyere cheese and then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Fold the pastry in half lengthwise. Cut pastry in fourths vertically. Then cut each fourth of the pastry into thirds to make 24 bread sticks.
Pick up each pastry strip and carefully twist it. Press any of the cheese that falls off the bread sticks back on to the bread sticks with your fingers. Place twisted bread sticks on prepared baking sheet. Brush bread sticks with melted butter. Lightly sprinkle bread sticks with black pepper and cayenne pepper. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 – 20 minutes or until nicely browned.
Cool and place on serving plate. Bread sticks can be cut in half for appetizer portions.
