If you live in the South, chances are, in your fabulous circle of friends, there is someone named “Kitty”. Sure enough I have several friends named Kitty and they love Cosmopolitan cocktails. So I named my Cosmo recipe after them “Kitty’s Cosmo”.
Makes 2 cocktails
1 large strawberry
2 ounces Cointreau
Place strawberry in a small container. Pour Cointreau over strawberry. Cover container. Place container in freezer for 30 minutes.
2 ounces fresh lime juice
3 1/2 ounces Ketel One vodka
3 1/2 ounces Ocean Spray cranberry juice
Remove strawberry from freezer. Pour Cointreau into cocktail shaker. Cut strawberry into slices without cutting through the stem end. Fan out the strawberry slices and place a toothpick through the strawberry behind the fanned slices. Set the strawberry fan in the middle of a champagne coupe.
Place the lime juice, vodka and cranberry juice in the cocktail shaker with Cointreau. Add a cup of ice to the shaker. Cover and shake vigorously. Strain into champagne coupe.
